Inspiration Now That Summer is Over

Summer is officially over here. The leaves are turning gorgeous jewel tones, the air is crisp in the morning, the apples are turning up in groves to my local fruit man and the peaches are coming to an end.

I don't know about you but we had a jam packed summer. We did manage to sneak in some relaxation and lazy days too but it felt mostly super busy! I had a really hard time fitting in any creative time this summer but I have to admit I wasn't feeling super inspired. I'm still not there yet. I thought maybe I should go through the layouts and projects I did make and do several posts about them. To inspire some creativity in me as well as maybe you!

The first layout I'm sharing is one of my favs from the summer! It's actually a super simple layout. I used a photo from last summer, that's how far behind I am ;) The paper is AMAZING. By Alexandra Renke.  Found at one of our local stores called The Scrap Yard, here in Calgary, AB. I bought several of a few of the designs. This one and a magnificent orange pattern.

The background alpha are some older Doodle Bug Design alpha stickers I hadn't used in ages. I placed them in a somewhat random but organized pattern. I had some scrap paper sitting on my desk that I had inked off some purple ink onto. I decided I really like the pattern and cut out two small flags from it. The bottom right corner has "Like" stamped repeatedly using purple ink, inking off once or twice in between inking. "Like" stamp is designed by Tina Aszmus of Life Love Paper for an old  Kelly Purkey kit called Currently Loving - seen here on pinterest. It's one of my favs!
Like a Boss is from an old Studio Calico stamp set. I stamped it with versa mark and used gold embossing powder, heated it up to melt of course.

I felt the page was busy enough with the bright coloured background and didn't want to take away from the typographic feel so I kept the embellishing to a minimum.
I hope you find some simple inspiration from it!

If this has given you any inspiration or want to see some process videos making layouts like this let me know. I'll do my best to make that happen :)

PS: Hope your back to school has been going smooth! Happy Fall!!
